New England Anesthesia Residents' Conference (NEARC)
The first meeting of the NEARC took place at the University of Massachusetts Medical School on Saturday, April 7, 2007. Over 40 residents and faculty from UMass Memorial Medical Center, New England Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, Mass General Hospital, BI Deaconess Medical Center and St. Elizabeth's Hospital attended the meeting. A variety of oral presentations were made from case reports and challenging cases to original research. Following the conference, a reception was held in the Blais Pavilion of the Lazare Research Building where the participants enjoyed classical music, hors d'oeuvres and conversation. We hope this tradition will continue and will be hosted on a rotating basis by the other training programs in New England.
